Goodbye summer. Oh well, at least it ended well! These past few weeks I have been doing production design for my friend Jeff on a parody/homage movie he is directing. The movie is based off of a 90's video game called Earthbound. In the movie, one of the main characters smokes a lot, so I designed a bunch of matchboxes he has in his drawer. Each matchbox is inspired by either a character or place in the game and I used vintage matchbox's for the design inspiration. The first three are for the tops of matchboxes and for the last one, I designed it to be a paper matchbook. Anyways, I had a ton of fun creating them and I wish I could do 20 more! But, the movie is already being filmed and school is starting to pick up again...
I also did some anatomical studies of a weird little character in the game called Mr. Saturn. In the video game, he is very funny and cartoony. Here's what he looks like: click here.
However, in this live action version of the game, the Mr. Saturn is literally just a human head placed on 2 human feet. So, I designed what I thought the bone structure might be for them. In the movie, one of the characters is studying the Mr. Saturns, so these drawings appear on his wall. They are designed to be very da Vinci-esq.
I wish I could do more work for the movie! But, school is calling again... So, on to new projects!

This is a sketch I did of Jon and I walking back from class one day. Boyfriends.... right?
Also, a few days ago, I really wanted to play a video game to relax a little, so I was recommended to play Earthbound. Bad idea...
For those who haven't played the game, i'm referencing this character:
